The Health Research Unit (UIS) has among its purposes to ensure the protection and rights of persons participating as subjects in research projects. To that end, we have integrated a Research Ethics Committee (IRB/UIS) to appraise, approve and monitor all ethical aspects of research protocols that are conducted.

The IRB / UIS will consist of a solid group of people with training, career and / or social commitment, capable of representing the moral, cultural, and social values of the community. Collectively, members of the IRB/UIS will have the necessaryqualifications and experience to assess the scientific, medical and ethical aspects of the proposed studies.

To function, the IRB / UIS must have standard operating procedures and related guidelines for their use, which are integrated in this document.
